Terms and Conditions

1) Your Fitness

Although this trip does not include zip wiring or white water rafting, you will need to be in pretty good health with decent mobility.

Please consider the following:

You will need to be on your feet for much of the day and that includes walking up and down stairs.  Not all of the buildings or pavements are in perfect condition so please always keep your eyes peeled for trip hazards as you walk.

Amaya is located in the foothills of the Himalayas  at an altitude of over 2000m. You will notice the difference.  We will go walking in the hills so please be prepared.

You will also need to be able to carry your own luggage.

2) Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is compulsory.  At a minimum you must be covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation.

Architourian strongly recommends that you have a policy that also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage or personal effects.

If you have credit card insurance you will need to let Architourian know the following pieces of information:

the participating insurer/underwriter, the level of coverage, policy number, and emergency contact number

3) Payment and cancellation by you.

You will need to pay a deposit of £1000 for each traveller to reserve a place on the trip.

The remainder will need to be paid in full 10 weeks in advance of the start date.  Failure to pay the balance in time, could result in cancellation. A reminder to pay may not be sent so please mark a date in your diary.

Plans may change and you might need to cancel your trip. The rules are as follows:

If you cancel more than ten weeks before the start of the trip, you will lose your deposit.

If you cancel between ten weeks and four weeks before the start of the trip, on the assumption that you settled the balance of the trip, you will be refunded 50% of the total trip cost.

If you cancel less than 4 weeks before the start of the trip, there is no refund.

4) Cancellation by Architourian

If for some reason I have to cancel the trip which is not in my interests of course but may be for reasons beyond my control in India or otherwise, you will get a full refund.

The most likely reason that a trip might not go ahead is that the particular date you have chosen does not get the required minimum of 6 people.

I will let you know a mnimum of 60 days in advance of that eventuality and immediately refund you in full.

You will be offered a 20% discount on rebooking an alternative date.

There may of course be some other reason such as a pandemic or terrorism that means that I will have to cancel the trip at short notice. You will be refunded in full.

However, I cannot reimburse any incidental expenses you may have incurred such as flights and additional accommodation. This is why you will need travel insurance from the moment you book the trip.

5) The itinerary

The itinerary for this trip has been tried and tested and is fairly bullet proof but obviously Indian Railways and the weather can bring some problems. At short notice changes may need to be made.

We will keep you fully informed. Access to certain buildings might also change especially at the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh.

We will do our best with our local team to make sure that even if there are last minute changes, alternatives are quickly in place.

If you face any problems along the way,  speak to the Architourian guide straight away, so that we can work to fix it.

6) Group travel

“L'enfer, c'est les autres” as Sartre put it. However on this trip a small group of people (a maximum of 8) travelling with similar interests is all part of the fun.

Making the trip a success depends on mutual consideration by us all.  Please turn up on time so that we make the most of the trip.

In the very unlikely event that somebody behaves disruptively, breaks the law or causes such distress to other travellers, Architourian reserves the right  to terminate the tour of the person without liability for any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination.

7) Late arrival or early departure

If you fail to join a trip, join at any point after departure or choose to amend or curtail your holiday for any reason prior to its completion.

Architourian is not responsible for refunding costs for any unused services and we will have no liability for any additional costs, expenses or other losses of any kind incurred by you.

8) Extra service

Please note, we cannot accept responsibility for any services which do not form part of our contract.

This includes, for example, any additional services or facilities which your hotel or any other supplier or third-party agrees to provide for you where the services or facilities are not advertised by us.

9) Health and Safety Standards

Please note that the services provided are subject to the health and safety standards of India.

10) Data Protection and use of images

Occasionally, we may use images and videos taken on our tours in certain marketing channels including but not limited to our social media feeds (Instagram and Threads) and our website.

If you wish to deny permission for any images or videos featuring yourself or your travelling companions, please let us know.

11) Subject to English Law

Our contract with you is subject to English law (and no other) and the jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales only.
